Addressing Opioid Overdose (AOOD) Training

Audience:
This training is intended for substance use prevention professionals in Texas.

About the AOOD Training:
Developed by SAMHSA’s former Center for the Application of Prevention Technologies (CAPT) and adapted for Texas, our Addressing Opioid Overdose (AOOD) training provides participants with an opportunity to explore the role Texas prevention providers play in preventing opioid use disorders (OUD), and the resulting consequences. Throughout AOOD, participants explore practical information and guidance, engage in both small- and large-group discussions of key concepts, and identify action steps to facilitate future application. Interactive activities and discussions help participants become familiar with the factors that put individuals at increased risk for opioid overdose​ and describe the strategies for preventing opioid overdose and death in the event of an overdose

CE Hours: 6.5 total over 2 days

Requirements:
This AOOD is virtual, occurring live over Zoom. It will take place over 2 days. All participants are expected to fully engage in the training, which calls for reliable internet connection and use of a webcam. Participants do not need a Zoom account to attend the training – you may attend through any internet browser option if you do not want to download the app.

Registration:
This training is limited to 30 participants. You must submit a registration and be approved to attend (you will receive an email approving or denying your registration).
